The Gifford School offers a wide variety of in-service training opportunities for its staff. Intensive workshops offer practical and theoretical information on topics such as non-violent physical intervention, strategies of behavorial management, and language-based instruction and technology in the classroom. In addition, issues of multiculturalism and diversity, educational curriculum and clinical resources, and awareness surrounding lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender issues are covered.

Gifford also offers various team building opportunities. Gifford is an approved training site, and is authorized to provide Professional Development Points (PDPs). Each year, a schedule of training programs is developed based on the needs and interests of the staff.
