Admissions

Below is the application process for admission to The Gifford School. If you have questions regarding admissions, please contact Admissions Director Ann Fry. phone man

  1. Application to The Gifford School usually begins with a referral from the public school system. Parents and clinicians may also initiate an inquiry
  2. A packet of referral information prepared by the public school and the parents is reviewed by The Gifford School Admissions Committee.
  3. Referral information usually includes a recent IEP, current school functioning, an academic and cognitive profile, diagnostic assessments, and any pertinent clinical information.
  4. If appropriate, interviews follow, which allow Gifford staff and most importantly, the student, family, and public school to determine if Gifford is a suitable placement.
  5. In most cases, tuition and transportation are the responsibility of the sending public school system.
  6. Open enrollment decisions regarding admission and placement are based on the right match between school and student.
