Traditions

traditions

Halloween

A costume fair is put on by students and staff, complete with events, awards and prizes.

Thanksgiving

The entire school community, including staff, students and Board members participate in a family-style dinner.

Winter Follies

Plays and skits are presented by staff and students at an all-school assembly. A community breakfast is enjoyed, and the school presents a gift for each of the students. This is a fun and relaxed event that promotes inclusion of different cultures as a means of celebration.

Parent-Staff Potluck Dinner

All staff, parents, and guardians are invited to get together for a potluck dinner to solidify relationships and have some fun (and great food!).

Yard Sale

In early May the Gifford community sponsors a signature, gala Yard Sale, which includes raffles, food, and unique treasures. Parents, students, staff and Board members join in this community-building and enjoyable fundraising effort.

Spring Dance

All students from the High School plan and hold a dance in the late spring. Dinner, dancing, and guests are part of this fun tradition.

Graduation

Each June, graduation ceremonies are held at The Gifford School. The graduates, dressed in caps and gowns, receive diplomas. Additionally, a school-wide ceremony is held to recognize every student who attends Gifford.

Halloween is just one of the traditions that students and staff take part in.
