Assistant Teacher - Summer Program
We currently have Assistant Teacher openings for the 2026 summer session with a possible 2026-2027 school-year opportunity.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Experience with children/adolescents in a special education setting preferred
- Ability to develop an understanding of special needs population and therapeutic milieu
- Proven interpersonal skills
- Ability to work both collaboratively and independently
- Strong communication skills
Schedule:
- June 29, 2026 through July 31, 2026
- 7:30 am - 3:30 pm; Monday–Thursday; Friday 7:30 am - 3:00 pm
Responsibilities:
- Provide in-class support to teachers and students
- Assist teachers with lesson & activity planning & prep work, as requested
- With guidance from a classroom teacher and at times independently, work with students on a one-to-one basis or in small groups
- Facilitate and lead students during transitions, lunch, electives, & group activities
- Provide one-on-one support to students in or outside the classroom in order to meet their needs
- Assist with facilitating off campus school trips
- Demonstrate respect for diversity among our staff and student body and promote an atmosphere which values this diversity
