Technology Support Specialist

  • 1+ years experience in a technical support or customer service role are desired

  • Exemplify strong attention to detail

  • Ability to understand and brainstorm creative solutions to complex problems is essential

  • Must have strong time management skills and work productively with minimal supervision

  • Familiarity and understanding of the functions of basic computer hardware and software

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and collaborative attitude are a must

  • Ability to explain technical concepts in layman’s terms

  • Must have sound analytical thinking skills and attention to detail

  • Strong organization and communication skills

  • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently

  • Ability to participate in outdoor physical activities to include kneeling, stooping and lifting up to 50 pounds


  • Set up and configure computers and peripheral equipment such as printers, scanners, etc

  • Perform audits and tests on computer systems, networks and hardware to ensure accountability and proper functioning

  • First tier response to support requests including troubleshooting any problems that arise with computer, network, printing and phone systems

  • Assists with keeping materials and equipment in working order; requests and records service calls

  • Perform routine preventative maintenance to avoid system outages and failures

  • Assists teachers and students in the use of the technology equipment

  • Setup A/V equipment for meetings, presentations and trainings

  • Assists students with set-up and use of equipment when appropriate. Maintains schedule and catalog of materials and equipment

  • Assists teachers and students in making proper use of media/computer equipment and materials

  • Assist training teachers and students utilizing technology tools

  • Support students and teachers with technology that enhances digital learning in the classrooms

  • Support specialized equipment used in computer lab, studio and classrooms

  • Assist with student technology training and assist students with technology needs

  • Work cooperatively with Tech Director and program staff to triage and address teacher concerns related to digital learning, the learning management systems, and web based applications

  • Assist in the development of professional development activities for staff around Web based applications and other technology related trainings

  • Remain current on emerging technologies in education and evaluate potential applications to enhance the usefulness of technology in the programs

  • Work with teachers and technology staff in the selection of resources that are compatible with the school technology infrastructure


  • 12 months Full Time (40 hours)
