Favorite thing about working at Gifford?
"My Favorite thing about working at Gifford is getting to know students as they enter the Lower School program and watching them grow and mature while developing the coping skills and self-confidence that they exhibit on Graduation Day as they proudly accept their diplomas. It can be a long and, at times, challenging process but the structure and community that Gifford provides helps our students become the best versions of themselves!"
Nick Romanow, Head Teacher
Nick joined Gifford in 2011 as an Assistant Teacher in the Lower School. Following two years in that role, Nick became a Teacher in the Lower School, a position that he held for 8 years. Nick became Head Teacher in June 2020. Nick graduated from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst with a degree in Communications. Nick received his masters in Special Education from Regis College in 2016.
Favorite thing about working at Gifford?
"My favorite thing about working at Gifford is getting to be a part of such a supportive community for both staff and students. Gifford is such an inclusive and caring environment that welcomes all into our community and helps staff and students alike learn and grow."
Megan Parker, Clinician
Megan joined the team as the Clinician in the Lower School in 2021. She received her MSW from Boston University and since then has worked with children and families in therapeutic school programs, summer camps, and private practice. Prior to graduate school she lived and worked in Uganda where she created a nonprofit to support at-risk families and children.
Favorite thing about working at Gifford?
"My favorite thing about Gifford so far is the team's commitment to creating a safe and inclusive space for each student. Every staff member I have met at Gifford is passionate about helping students find their place in the community and thrive both academically and socially. It's so neat to see the growth in the students as a result of being a part of a community that goes above and beyond to meet them where they are at and highlight their strengths over their challenges."
