Woodshop

Safety, respect, and teamwork are the three key elements in a successful Woodshop class at Gifford. When students adhere to these, they earn more responsibility, which fuels creativity and enables students to engage in more complex and individualized projects. Students have created chess boards and chess pieces, cabinets, lego pieces, boomerangs, and many other creative pieces.

Construction skills is also offered as part of Gifford's High School Transition Program. Students must pass the necessary safety requirements to use power tools on their own. At this level, students work on more complex projects and volunteer their time and expertise to help teach a wood shop class, and/or work on completing more of the complex tasks necessary to finish Lower School projects.
